The Steel Challenge is a speed shooting competition governed by the Steel Challenge Shooting Association (SCSA). The targets, made of steel, range in size from 10″ round plates to 18″x24″ rectangular plates. Competitors are scored based solely on the time it takes them to shoot each stage. The last target that is shot is known as the “stop plate”, which stops the timer. Each competitor shoots each stage five times, with their slowest run dropped, excluding the stage Outer Limits where only four runs are shot and the top three counted. The competitor’s best four out of five runs are totaled for their stage score and the stage scores are added together to establish the competitor’s match score. The winner is the competitor with the lowest overall time in each division.

The East Coast Steel Challenge series is moving to a new host club Ontelaunee Rod & Gun Club in 2017. Ontelaunee Rod & Gun Club is located 15 miles northwest of our previous location. The range has the same ease of access by major roads and airports as before. Hotel locations will be about the same area as years past.

Ontelaunee Rod & Gun Club features brand new dedicated competition ranges set in a beautiful mountain setting. The grounds allow for a larger vendor area, parking much closer to the range, individual side match areas, dedicated sight-in range, large clubhouse with kitchen and an outdoor pavilion area for after match activities. A big thank you to all of the officers at Ontelaunee for welcoming us with open arms to their club.

Pennsylvania is one of the most gun friendly states in America. Unlike other states with limiting and confusing gun laws, there are no limitations on which guns and magazines you gun bring into the state, so there is no worrying about what may or may not be legal in our state when traveling to our matches. Just be sure to follow all applicable laws when travel to our match.

The club's physical address is:
